Cricket International Calling: Add-On Prices, Countries and Limits

To call other countries from the US on Cricket Wireless, you need the International Calling add-on: $10 or $15 a month for each country you choose, as of October 2026. Calls from the US to Mexico and Canada are already included on Select Unlimited, Smart Unlimited and Supreme Unlimited, so you only need the add-on for the rest of the world.

Cricket does not publish a pay-per-minute rate. If a country is not on your line, the call does not go through and you hear a message saying that destination has not been added to your line.

What is included on your Cricket plan already

Check this first, because you may already be covered. This is what Cricket's plans page shows as of October 2026:

PlanPrice with Auto Pay (without)Calls and texts from the US to Mexico and CanadaTexts from the US to 200+ countriesUsing your phone in Mexico and Canada
Supreme Unlimited$55 ($60) a monthIncludedIncludedIncluded
Smart Unlimited$45 ($50) a monthIncludedIncludedIncluded
Select Unlimited$35 ($40) a monthIncludedNot includedNot included
Sensible 10GB$30 ($35) a monthNot includedNot includedNot included

Cricket's help pages say Supreme, Smart and Select customers are "automatically enrolled" in Mexico and Canada long distance calling and texting. You do not have to switch anything on. One exception from the same FAQ: calls and messages from the US to Canada's Northern Territories are not included.

Notice the column about texts. On Smart and Supreme you can text 200+ countries for free, but calling them still needs the add-on.

The International Calling add-on, country by country

Cricket sells international calling per destination. You pick a country, and Cricket shows you the monthly price and the minutes that come with it. Countries fall into two price tiers:

  • $15 a month: unlimited calling minutes to the chosen country. This tier includes India, the UK, Colombia, Brazil, China, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Japan, South Korea and Australia, about 30 countries in all.
  • $10 a month: a fixed number of minutes (15, 50, 100 or 200, depending on the country). This covers every other listed country.

Both tiers also include unlimited texting and picture messaging to that country. Cricket's help page says the minutes cover calls "from the U.S. to landlines and mobile phones in the country you select", so you do not pay more to reach a mobile.

Here is how five common destinations price out, from Cricket's international countries list as of October 2026:

India$15 a monthUnlimited
United Kingdom$15 a monthUnlimited
Colombia$15 a monthUnlimited
Philippines$10 a month100 minutes

Some details from Cricket's International Calling terms that matter before you buy:

  1. It renews every month until you cancel it.
  2. No refunds or prorating. Your first period ends on your plan's renewal date, so if you add it mid-cycle, you pay the full price for a shorter month.
  3. You can add as many countries as you like. Each one is its own monthly charge.
  4. Minutes run out. On a capped country you hear a tone 30 seconds before your minutes end, then the call drops. You cannot call that country again until you buy more minutes with a one-time charge (Cricket does not publish its price) or your next cycle starts.
  5. It does not work when you travel. Cricket's own FAQ answers "No, International Calling plans do not include roaming."

Cricket does not publish a fair-use number for the unlimited tier. Cricket's pages also disagree on which plans can buy the add-on: the help pages name Supreme, Smart and Select, while the add-on page still lists older plans. If you are on Sensible 10GB, check in the myCricket app before you count on it.

What does a 10-minute call cost?

Ten minutes is a typical catch-up call. This table compares the Cricket options with a pay-as-you-go browser dialer, using BoraPhone rates at the time of writing (October 2026). Prices are in US dollars.

Calling from the US toCricket with no add-onCricket add-on (monthly)BoraPhone, 10 minutes
Mexico$0 on Select, Smart, Supreme. Blocked on Sensible 10GBNot sold$1.10 to a mobile, $0.40 to a landline
IndiaCall does not connect$15, unlimited$1.11
United KingdomCall does not connect$15, unlimited$0.70 to a mobile, $0.40 to a landline
PhilippinesCall does not connect$10 for 100 minutes$6.50 to a mobile, $4.61 to a landline
ColombiaCall does not connect$15, unlimited$0.90

Which option is cheaper for you?

Work it out from how many minutes you use to one country in a month.

Philippines: the add-on wins quickly. At $0.65 a minute to a Filipino mobile, a pay-as-you-go call costs more than Cricket's $10 add-on after about 16 minutes. If you call family in Manila every week, buy the add-on. Calling apps that the other person also has installed can be cheaper still.

India: the break-even is around two hours. $15 buys unlimited minutes, and $15 at $0.11 a minute is roughly 136 minutes. Talk to India more than that each month and the add-on is the better deal. Talk less and you are paying for minutes you do not use.

UK and Colombia: it takes a lot of talking. $15 at the UK mobile rate is over 200 minutes, and Colombia is around 167 minutes. Two 20-minute calls a month to a London landline cost $1.60 at $0.04 a minute, while the add-on costs $15 whether you use it or not.

Mexico: if you are on Select, Smart or Supreme, you already pay nothing extra. On Sensible 10GB, Mexico calls are not included, and the cheapest fix is either a plan change or paying per call.

The pay-as-you-go route also makes sense when you call several countries a little each, like one call to Germany, one to India and one to Colombia in a month. Three add-ons would cost $45. If that sounds like you, BoraPhone runs in a web browser on your laptop or phone with no app, and you pay per minute from credit (minimum top-up $5), billed per minute and rounded up to the next full minute. Your first call is free, and the rate shows before you dial. For prices across every country, see the international calling rate index.

How to add, change or remove the add-on

You can do it online, in the myCricket app or in a Cricket store. Changes can be made at any time, including mid-cycle.

Online:

  1. Go to Cricket's International Calling page and sign in.
  2. Pick the line that needs international calling.
  3. Start typing the country name to check it is available.
  4. Select the country to see the price and the minutes included.
  5. Follow the steps to pay.

In the myCricket app:

  1. Sign in and choose the line (if you have more than one).
  2. Tap Manage Features, enter your four-digit PIN if asked, and tap Next.
  3. Tap Add-on Features.
  4. Choose whether the change starts today or at your next billing cycle.
  5. Review, then pay (if it starts today) or tap Submit Changes (if it starts next cycle).

To remove it, sign in online or in the app, open Manage Features, select International Calling and follow the prompts. On a multi-line account, each line is managed separately. Since there is no prorating, remove it just before your renewal date rather than straight after.

How to dial an international number on Cricket

Dial a plus sign or 011, then the country code, then the number. Cricket says this works for every country. Drop the leading 0 that many countries use for domestic calls.

  • Mexico: +52 then the 10-digit number
  • India: +91 then the 10-digit mobile number
  • UK: +44 then the number without its first 0 (so 07700 900123 becomes +44 7700 900123)
  • Philippines: +63 then the number without its first 0
  • Colombia: +57 then the 10-digit number

Saving contacts in the plus format means they work from anywhere, including when you travel.

Travelling abroad is a separate product

International Calling only covers calls you make while you are in the US. When you are the one abroad, different rules apply.

Mexico and Canada: Smart Unlimited and Supreme Unlimited include talk, text and data in both countries with no new SIM. Cricket's FAQ says your use in Canada must stay under 50% of your total use over a 3-month period, and your main use must be in the US.

Everywhere else: Cricket sells Cricket Passport, an add-on for 50+ destinations. As of October 2026 it costs $10 a day for unlimited talk, text and data (charged for at most 10 days in any 30-day period), or $25 for 5GB over five days. It needs Smart Unlimited, Supreme Unlimited or a Multi-Month plan.

If you just want to call home cheaply from a hotel, a calling app over WiFi is usually cheaper than a day pass. Our guide to phone plans with international calling compares how other carriers handle this, and the AT&T international calling guide covers Cricket's parent network. If you are deciding between a monthly carrier and topping up as you go, see prepaid international calls.

Frequently asked questions

Do I get charged for calls to Canada on Cricket?

Not on Select Unlimited, Smart Unlimited or Supreme Unlimited. Those plans include calls and texts from the US to Canada and Mexico at no extra cost. Sensible 10GB does not include them.

Is Cricket international calling free?

Only to Mexico and Canada, and only on the Unlimited plans. Every other country needs the paid International Calling add-on, which costs $10 or $15 a month per country as of October 2026.

Can I add more than one country to my Cricket line?

Yes. Cricket says you can add as many countries as you like. Each country is a separate monthly charge, so three countries at $15 each cost $45 a month.

What happens when I run out of international minutes?

On countries with a minute allowance, you hear a tone 30 seconds before the minutes run out, then the call ends. You cannot call that country again until you buy more minutes with a one-time charge or your next cycle starts.

Does Cricket International Calling work when I travel abroad?

No. It only covers calls made from the US. For travel, Smart and Supreme include Mexico and Canada, and Cricket Passport covers 50+ other destinations for a daily or 5-day fee.
